2024 Nobel prize winner 한강 Han Kang grew up in Gwanju, South Korea, a city marked by both beauty and tragedy. Rather than turning away from the dark chapters of its past (which Kang lived through) she bravely decided to do something about it. Kang put pen to paper and gave voices to those silenced.

Led by tastemaker Min Hee-jin, NewJeans blends K-POP with early 2000s and late 90s pop, UKG, Jersey club, jungle, and new jack swing. The result? A sound that’s somehow both niche and listenable to mass audiences. Floating vocals, cloud-light harmonies, bubbly raps that switch seamlessly between Korean & English, NewJeans constantly creates atmospheric and dreamy soundscapes that wrap its listener in like a warm blanket on a cold winter morning.

The Plotters by Kim Un-su mixes gritty realism, dark humor, and movie-like action. It is set in an alternate Seoul that is ruled by assassin guilds. Reseng is an assassin, and behind every assassination, there is an anonymous mastermind, a plotter, working in the shadows.
